Protection for Meadow Birds on the Lower Rhine

The nature conservation association Aufwind has already been successfully campaigning for the protection of endangered meadow bird species such as lapwing and partridge since 2019. Together with the Kreis Kleve Nature Conservation Center, the organization launched a competition that honors farmers' commitment to meadow bird conservation. This year, too, the campaign was very well received and could be continued with an award ceremony.

Aufwind played a key role in the conception and implementation of the competition. Klaus Tamm was a member of the jury that selected the winners. The aim was to raise public awareness of the nature conservation services provided by agriculture. Prizes were awarded to farms that create habitats for the target species through targeted measures.

With the competition, Aufwind wants to emphasize the importance of meadow bird conservation and cooperation with agriculture. Aufwind's commitment shows how valuable local conservation initiatives can be for the preservation of biodiversity.
